The tribute band Jar of Flies returns to the stage in Seattle for the annual tribute to the late Alice in Chains front man Layne Staley on Friday, August 21st for Grunge Night (A Tribute to Seattle Music) and again for LAYNE STALEY TRIBUTE 2026 on Saturday, August 22nd with both shows to be held at The Showbox (1426 1st Ave, Seattle, WA 98101). All Proceeds from the tribute will be donated to the Layne Staley Memorial Fund, benefitting Therapeutic Health Services (THS).
The Showbox Presents and KISW 99.9FM present: LAYNE STALEY TRIBUTE WEEKEND 2026, offering Alice in Chains and grunge-era fans the opportunity to spend two nights in the company of fellow music lovers, reliving the sounds of Seattle in the early 90s. The annual tribute has brought fans from all over the world together in Seattle every August to celebrate the legacy of Layne Staley and to raise money to help fight the ever-growing opioid epidemic affecting people across the country.
This year’s program will feature two nights of music from Seattle’s Grunge era, backed by Jar of Flies (the ultimate Alice in Chains experience) as well as special guests from the Seattle Music community. Using the opportunity to celebrate the music that has provided a soundtrack to our lives and helped to define an entire generation to also do some good for the community. Proceeds from the show will be donated to Layne Staley Fund at Therapeutic Health Services (THS) an addiction and recovery center based in Seattle and serving communities across western Washington.
Opiate addiction is a current major health concern in Seattle, and the Layne Staley Tribute is committed to raising awareness of the opiate epidemic and resources available for those in our communities in search of help.
Tickets to the Layne Staley Tribute Weekend are available at www.ShowboxPresents.com or at the door (if still available). Both nights will have Doors at 7 p.m., followed by the show at 8 p.m.
These events are All-Ages.
